Dream on.. Don't stop Imagining.. Do something Creative..

What is the biggest gift that God has ever given to us? If this question is asked, we will get different answers from different people. If you ask me, I would say one of the biggest gift god has given to humans – is the ability to dream or the power of imagination. I am not talking about the dreams which we see unknowingly while we are deeply into sleep. Yes, it has its own significance and are actually built on what we seek or desire (most of the time).

I am talking about the ones which you aspire even when your eyes wide open. It need not be just about what you want to become or how you like your future to be. The way we see things differently, the way we imagine the huge world around us – fascinates me. When compared to the world or universe, our mind is such a small thing… yet very powerful. Its power of imagination, the way it captures, portrays, modifies things in so many different ways to make you enter into your own fantasy world – is truly mesmerizing. Be it influenced while reading a book, watching some movie, walking across the streets or even while sitting idle looking out of the window, our mind never stops.

Imagination, dreams, creativity all are inter related to each other. All of them are major factors in whatever we do in our lives. Every invention or discoveries wouldn’t have been invented or discovered just by luck or chance. Yes it requires skills, years of practice and research. But if you lack any of the 3 things it becomes very difficult. Any profession for that matter - be it cooking, teaching, story writing, poems, movie making, painting requires imagination. While some say, few professions like paintings requires more of it, I say, it is not completely true. If you can’t imagine the math, you can’t teach your students how to solve problems. If you can’t imagine how would the dish may taste like - you can’t prepare a nice cuisine. If you can’t imagine virtual characters in a fantacy world, you can’t write a story. Above all, let me take an example of IT world - If you can’t imagine what are the possible data flows in an application or how the end user can play with the application, you can’t design test cases or you may not be able to get those defects which are not easily visible. :) The power of imagination can make you travel miles in no time. It can take you to someone who is far or even who doesn’t exist! It can get rains even in summer! :)

Dreams are nothing but imagining yourself in a fantasy world. It can be just you or with someone you like or even with someone you hate..  it can be something you yourself want to see in a position.. it can be anything yet to happen or that you want to happen. It keeps our lives going, gives us the lively feeling, gives us reasons to live, make us work, make us expect more from life and even achieve them. We may not have the pleasure of seeing every dream turn into reality. Still, it gives us happiness for that moment, keeps our zeal alive and make us work towards making it a reality. Though sometimes, it may shatter our lives when we fail – the new set of dreams get us out and we move on. . .

Creativity, is what makes us unique from each other. Every single person is creative in his/her own way. It is quite amazing - how people can find solutions to highly complex issues , how a small story can be portrayed in 1000 different ways, how some set of words can make you wander in a fantasy world – Awesome. What is there in making or executing a task 100 times in the same way? What is there in spending every day of our lives following the same routine? Let’s use our creativity to do something nice in a different way… Life will be even more interesting than it looks or as is in some books or in quotes!

The point is, everyone is given the wonderful gifts by the almighty, one or the other way. How do we make use of it, solely depends on the individual. Life would have been boring and tasteless without these I.D.C… May you nurture your I.D.C in the right way and at the right time… :)
