A visit to the once french colony - Pondicherry

Image
Pondicherry also known as Puduuchery - 'new town' in Tamil. One of the union territories of India located in sea shores of Bay of Bengal in Tamil Nadu. Formerly a French Colony, I was expecting a lot from the place when we planned to visit in August. It was good if not the best place I have ever visited so far.. It was my first visit to any of the Union territories of India. We were there for only one day. So we might have missed some places (in & around pondicherry). The review given here are based on my experience only. Overall:  Aurovilla, Mahe beach, French war Memorial (It is just a garden with one Statue), Museum near Arabindo  Ashram, Nehru Road(It is like commercial street of Bangalore) are the only places we visited and that sums up most of the tourist places in Pondicherry I guess. However, what I liked the most was its well planned city architecture. We do get to see French style of architecture and probably that is what attracts the tourists. Roads within  Pondi

I must say, those days I was having crush on every other girl I met... The one who had lots of follower, the one who was sitting alone in the cafe, the one who was tomboyish and always surrounded by the guys,   one who was a typical gossip maker, one who always kept silent, one with those magical eyes, one with those wonderful smile, the one who was considered to be the bomb of our college, one who was different from others, simple yet elegant… sigh …   I loved college life! For a guy, who had his first affair in the 6 th standard, who proudly possesses that art of flirting, this place was like heaven. I don’t blame those guys like the author of this blog, for being dumb that they couldn’t even have a conversation with a girl! After all it was an art! All my friends used to call me the love guru – you see I made a girl fall in love with my friend just through messages, acting like him! I was that good!! So, for a guy like me – crush & love were all the same, and it was fun. I cou

* although it is presented in such a way to look/sound like a poem - I know I have a long way to go. So I would say, it is still an attempt * And this is a work of fiction. New place to work, new people around.. but I was confident that I shall manage to stand my ground.. With so many dreams and aspiration, I was also searching for that special one… Soon, I found someone in the crowd.. her smile made my heart pound.. my eyes started following her, everywhere she made a move… Luckily, she was in my team.. & that made my face beam.. I couldn’t hide my delight, but had to wait for the moment that will be right… My days passed waiting for her glimpse.. & her thoughts took over the nights.. every time I heard her beautiful voice, her words played soothing music in my heart… Our conversation were always small.. for her, I was still not even a close pal.. Yes I had a crush on her.. and a feeling, to make her mine for rest of the future… That day I pinged her.. with plans of asking

By far - the best b'day ever...

It has been over a months since my last b'day and I'm surprised that I haven't written about it in my blog! Not that it was not worth mentioning... in fact - it has to be the best b'day ever...  Who wouldn't love to be treated as special on his/her b'day?  but that's not it... - How would you feel when you are surprised - not once, not twice but thrice?   - How would you feel, when you wake up in the morning to find most of your close friends in your house, who  sacrificed their Saturday morning sleep and came to make the special day even more special?  - How would you feel, when you find your favorite football club's (should I mention which club?) crest - being decorated on your b'day cake?  - How would you feel, when you go to a restaurant - which serves food that belongs to your region, knows your taste and serves what you have been longing for... especially in a place where you hardly find any such restaurants?   Well, that it exactly what I was
