That night.. (finale)

Previously on "That Night" - here ... It shakes your roots when something you always believed, becomes questionable. You don't understand what is right and what isn't. You start doubting everything around. You then have two options -  try and find the answers so that you can re-establish your belief / make amends to what you believed. Or forget everything and move on.  After a bad day in office and a horrific incident riding back home, all I needed was a good night or let's say early morning sleep. It was 10 AM when I opened my eyes after a brief nap. Although too tired to even get out of the bed, I had to be in office soon so I dragged myself, still half asleep, shaken from that moment-of-madness, I got ready for work. I didn't speak a word about what happened last night to my wife even though she sensed something was bugging me real bad. Thinking it may just be the workload, she didn't question further and I was out on bikes within an hour.  I could have...

That Night.. (Part 2)

Contd from Part_1 Image courtesy: https://media.giphy.com/ I don't believe in Ghost. Maybe I did, when I was a kid. Even the lamest horror shows (Zee-horror-show) used to give me nightmares. Over the period of time, I became skeptical about the whole after-death theories. Perhaps, the credit has to go to numerous horror shows, horror movies that I saw. Somehow I developed a taste to this genre of media and ultimately I became fearless to the whole idea of creepy ghosts, devils, dark stories etc. But everything was about to change.  ...Sometimes life gives you situations where you don't really understand what is real and what isn't. On top of that, it's very likely that you don't get enough time to even think through what is going on. Same was the case with me that night. The skeptical part of the brain was bamboozled, totally in for a shock and it stopped working when I saw that 'figure'. You don't expect anyone standing in the middle of the road, at nig...

Girl I met...

Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to anyone is purely a coincidence.  Night travel wasn't new for me since I moved to Bangalore. And post marriage I was always accompanied by my wife (or shall I say, she was accompanied by me). However, my last travel was unusual not because I was travelling without her - but the next seat was occupied by a seemingly charming and extravagantly beautiful girl. Well, most guys (read all guys) when they travel alone and their next seat is empty, always (I repeat ‘always’) wish for someone of this personality to grace the void! Now that I was married to a wonderful person (Ah! This statement will surely save my ***) , I decided to behave like a gentleman. (Not that I haven’t before marriage and not that I was having any other intentions). Two of my buddies, both bachelors, were travelling in the same bus, needless to say sitting next to each other. I turned back to check their expression and then their eyes, face spoke to me in a ...

Unforgettable Diwali...

I must say, those days I was having crush on every other girl I met... The one who had lots of follower, the one who was sitting alone in the cafe, the one who was tomboyish and always surrounded by the guys,   one who was a typical gossip maker, one who always kept silent, one with those magical eyes, one with those wonderful smile, the one who was considered to be the bomb of our college, one who was different from others, simple yet elegant… sigh …   I loved college life! For a guy, who had his first affair in the 6 th standard, who proudly possesses that art of flirting, this place was like heaven. I don’t blame those guys like the author of this blog, for being dumb that they couldn’t even have a conversation with a girl! After all it was an art! All my friends used to call me the love guru – you see I made a girl fall in love with my friend just through messages, acting like him! I was that good!! So, for a guy like me – crush & love were all the same, and it was f...

Strange night...

I was tired after the long and hard day at work. After collating the data from all my peers, my mind was reluctant to review the whole thing again. However, past experience told me not to send it without a final review. My eyes were burning as if someone had lit a candle inside my eyes!   Another 15 minutes and it will be midnight… but this was very important. With great difficulty I finished the last line before calling it a day! After shutting down the computer, I left my place at 12AM. I had to push my body a couple of times before it could respond. It felt as if all my organs woke up after a long sleep. I was about to open the door when I realized someone standing behind it. The door in my cabin had a translucent glass. The face of the shadow figure standing outside my cabin was not clearly visible. For a moment, it gave me a little shock as I was not expecting anyone to be in office at that time, that too outside my door, trying hard to peek inside! I stopped for a while...
